Basketball resumes Friday | Uvalde Leader News


Uvalde High School basketball teams will have no games Tuesday night.

The other four high schools that make up the five-school district, 30-4A, will be in action, but UHS has the open date in the Tuesday schedule.

Both the Coyotes and the Lobos will be back in action on Friday.

The Coyotes will host the Crystal City Javelinas in Harvey Kinchlow Gym, while the Lobos will travel to Crystal City to play the Lady Javelinas.

Tip-off time for the varsity games will be 7:30 p.m., while sub-varsity games will precede the varsity action at 5 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

Because of COVID-19 quarantine, the first game between the Uvalde Lobos and the Crystal City Lady Javelinas was postponed.

The district contest was rescheduled for yesterday, but results from the contest were not available.

Because of a scheduled powerlifting meet, the site for the Uvalde-Crystal City game was moved from Harvey Kinchlow Gym to the old UHS Gym.

Results from the game will be reported in next Thursday’s edition of the Leader-News.

The Lobos were set to face the Pearsall Lady Mavericks in action at Pearsall Friday night, but tge game was canceled by Pearsall because of COVID-19 quarantine.

Following action Friday at Crystal City, the Lobos will be back on the road Saturday for a district make-up ball game against the Hondo Owls.

Tip-off time is set for 3 p.m.
