Bring it on home: France | Travel


Who and where Judy Ruhmann Lampe at Mont St. Michel. It is an island commune on the coast of Normandy, France, that has been home to a monastery since the 8th century. It is only accessible by land at low tide and is surrounded by water at high tide.

The trip • Five women took a 17-day cruise and land tour of the British Isles in July 2019. The last stop was France.

Travel tip • Mont St. Michel is surrounded by water 100 days of the year. Plan ahead if you want to explore the city and the monastery on top. There are 400 steps to the top. Bring a bottle of water.
