Delta adds new transatlantic routes to London and Stockholm

US carrier Delta is increasing its transatlantic flights to Europe this summer with more services to the key hubs of London, Paris and Amsterdam.

The Atlanta-based airline plans to operate 510 flights per week to Europe, including new routes from Heathrow to Salt Lake City in Utah, starting on 14 May, and from Stockholm to New York JFK from 1 June.

Delta is also increasing the number of seats in its premium cabins on European routes, which will rise by 143 per cent compared with summer 2021.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice-president, network planning, said: “Delta has been focused on building back our network to give customers easy, convenient access to wherever they want to go, and we’re delivering on that promise with up to 74 daily flights to 21 European destinations from 10 US gateways this summer.

“We have also accelerated improvements to our aircraft so that customers can enjoy a more comfortable journey, including offering more seats than ever before in Delta Premium Select, which will be available on nearly every flight to Europe in the months ahead.”

The airline is increasing flights from New York JFK, with up to 27 flights per day to 20 European destinations, including the restart of routes to Zurich, Brussels, Edinburgh, Copenhagen and Prague.

Capacity is also being stepped up from Boston with nine daily services to nine European destinations. Delta will offer 5,000 more seats on transatlantic routes from Boston per week than during summer 2019.

From its Atlanta hub, Delta will operate 17 daily flights to Europe including three services per day to Amsterdam and twice-daily flights to both Heathrow and Rome.
