The Pierre Governor basketball team was poised to blow out the Douglas Patriots on Friday leading by 23 in the third quarter but the Patriots made a run to cut the lead to two. However, the Govs held on for the win, 68-60, for its third straight victory.
Lincoln Kienholz led all scorers on the evening with 22 points but Jackson Edman wasn’t far behind as he scored 20 as the Governors moved the ball extremely well in Box Elder finding the extra pass and having easy buckets underneath the basket. Darrell Knight led the Patriots with 16 but had 11 in the first quarter as the Governors took a seven point lead after the first quarter but ballooned it to a 17 point lead at the break. Connor Sauvage was vital in the comeback bid scoring eight points in the third and finishing with 13 overall.
