A couple of accidents and reports of fallen trees are causing delays to motorists’ journeys this morning (Tuesday, December 15).

According to the AA, there are reports of the road being partially blocked with slow traffic due to an accident involving two cars on A26 at A27 (Southerham Roundabout) outside Lewes.

There are also reports of an accident involving two cars on Tylden Way at Bartholomew Way outside Horsham.

According to the AA, there are reports of a fallen tree on the A283 both ways near B2138 Lower Street near Pulborough.

A tree has also fallen onto the road on the A283 Angel Street near Sheepdown Drive in Petworth. Approach with care.

Roadworks are also taking place on the M23 this week during the night from 8pm to 6am until Friday (December 18).

There will be lane closures both Northbound and Southbound for various work including landscaping and replanting.

Today Connect Plus Services is carrying out works on the M23 junction 10 Crawley to junction 8 (M25), with emergency repairs to be undertaken to the concrete central reservation, alongside the ongoing smart motorway works.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M23 junction 10, the A264 Eastbound, A22 Northbound to M25 junction 6.
