Delta appoints VP for EMEA and India

Delta Air Lines has appointed Nicolas Ferri as vice
president for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, effective 1 November.

Based in Paris, Ferri will oversee strategic commercial and
customer experience initiatives in the region, working closely with Delta’s
European joint venture partners Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic, as the
airline focuses on rebuilding its transatlantic network.

Prior to this appointment, Ferri has served as chief
commercial officer at Delta’s partner carrier Aeromexico since August 2019. He
has been with Delta for 10 years and in addition to his secondment to
Aeromexico, he previously held roles such as vice president of Latin America
and vice president of alliances in the Americas.

Ferri is fluents in English, French, Spanish, German and
Portuguese.

Alain Bellemare, president – international at Delta, said: “…Nicolas’
vast international and alliances experience will be vital to our continued
success as demand picks up and we reopen travel corridors across the region. With
customers returning to the skies, we look ahead to 2022 and the rebuilding of
our international portfolio with optimism.”

Rosewood appoints former Google exec to head global sales

Rosewood Hotel Group has appointed Google executive Lucy
Werner to the newly created role of SVP of commercial, overseeing global sales
and marketing, revenue management and digital performance marketing across all
regions of the company’s five brands, Rosewood announced.

Werner has more than 20 years of global experience in
business development, digital, sales and operations. She previously served as
head of cloud for Google Hong Kong, and held senior leadership positions at
Spruce Media, adBrite and JP Morgan. She assumes her new role on 1 November
2021.

In addition, Caroline MacDonald will transfer from her
position as group VP of sales and marketing, distribution and business
performance to SVP of operations for the Americas. She begins her new role in
January 2022.

Amex GBT appoints EMEA head of consulting


American Express Global Business Travel has appointed Dan
Beauchamp as head of consulting for the EMEA region.

Beauchamp brings more than 25 years’ corporate travel
experience with GBT and HRG, most recently as director of global clients
management at GBT, where he was responsible for leading a global client
management team and overseeing end-to-end ownership of key accounts.

Black Box appoints Paula Cullen


Paula Cullen has joined Black Box Partnerships as an associate for growth and sustainability, the consultancy has announced.

Cullen has 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing.
Prior to Black Box, she was director of sales and distribution for apartments provider
Native. Previously, she held director-level positions in the travel
management community. She also helped build and launch the BTA’s industry partner
board and is a past chair and held a seat on the BTA’s executive board for a
number of years.

Cullen said of her appointment: “The industry has been
through immense pain throughout the pandemic and as the market rebuilds there
will be both challenges and opportunities. Now is the time to rethink sales
propositions, challenge traditional commercial models and focus on building
sustainable and resilient businesses.

“I’m excited to be part of this

Visit Estonia appoints Lotus for UK PR role | News


Travel specialist PR consultancy, Lotus, has been appointed by Visit Estonia as the retained UK PR agency to promote the country as a visitor destination.

Lotus’ campaign will use the key pillars of Visit Estonia, which include nature, food and drink, culture, wildlife and adventure, to encourage visits to and beyond Tallinn.

Tourism is a significant industry in Estonia, accounting for eight per cent of GDP before the pandemic.

Lotus will be supporting Visit Estonia to attract UK-based tourists for overnight, weekend and longer visits to the country, using a range of strategic techniques to raise the profile of Estonia amongst a diverse selection of audience.

Media outreach will consider the various events in the Estonian cultural calendar, as well as seasonal activities and excursions, positioning Estonia as a versatile holiday destination for its visitors.

The account will be strategically overseen by chief executive, Jules Ugo, supported by senior account manager, Katie Cosstick, and account executive Matilda Haymes.

Lotus will report into Kadri Gröön, head of international media and food theme at Visit Estonia.

Coronavirus live updates: U.S. appoints new global coronavirus coordinator as Biden steps up efforts to combat pandemic


Here are some significant developments:

  • More than 4 million people in the United States received a coronavirus vaccine on Saturday — the nation’s highest one-day total since the shots began rolling out in December — amid a rising caseload and increase in hospitalizations.
  • New Zealand said Tuesday it was launching a quarantine-free travel bubble with Australia later this month. Travelers would still be subject to restrictions, but the new program could help reunite families separated by the pandemic.
  • China is offering its citizens an array of incentives, including free food, to ramp up a flagging vaccine drive that aims to inoculate 40 percent of its enormous population by June.
  • Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte (R) has tested positive for the coronavirus and will quarantine for 10 days, his office said Monday. His wife, Susan Gianforte, has exhibited no symptoms and is awaiting her test results, the office said.
  • More than 556,000 people have died due to the coronavirus in the United States, out of at least 30.7 million confirmed infections.

Internova Travel Group, one of the largest travel services companies in the world, announced today that it has named Gabe Rizzi as President, reporting to J.D. O’Hara, Chief Executive Officer. Jeremy Van Kuyk has also been promoted to Chief Information Officer for the company.

Rizzi previously served as President and Chief Sales Officer of Travel Leaders Corporate. With close to 30 years of leadership experience in sales, marketing and operations, Gabe originally joined Travel Leaders Corporate in 2016 as President where he successfully integrated a series of acquisitions to make Travel Leaders Corporate a leader in the corporate travel arena.

In his new role as President, Rizzi will lead the business divisions across the organization. This includes Global Travel Collection, Travel Leaders Group and Bonotel Exclusive Travel. Rizzi will also oversee Travel Leaders Corporate, which includes Travel Leaders International, Corporate Travel Services in Mexico and Your Event Solutions in the U.K.

Jeremy Van Kuyk has been promoted to Chief Information Officer for Internova Travel Group, replacing interim Chief Information Officer Steve Curts, who will continue to serve on Internova’s Board of Directors.

Van Kuyk joined the company as an Associate Business Analyst in November 2000 and has held various positions with increasing responsibility in IT. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Travel Leaders Group where he spearheaded the development and implementation of various technology programs, including Agent Profiler, the company’s proprietary online lead-generation system for travel agents, and Engagement, a comprehensive technology suite of programs that helps travel agents promote and sell their services. In his new role, Van Kuyk will oversee the information technology needs of business divisions across the Internova organization.
