INDIANAPOLIS – After qualifying for the eighth seed in the 2020-21 GLVC Women’s Basketball Tournament, the UIndy Greyhounds (11-10, 11-10 GLVC) set to face off against the league-leading No. 3 Drury Panthers in the tournament’s quarterfinal match on Wednesday. The two teams will face off in Springfield, Mo. on the Panthers’ home court, tip off starting at 7 p.m.

The Greyhounds come off of a disappointing weekend to round out the regular season, losing both home contests by one point each, their game against Lindenwood even going to overtime. The Hounds and Drury will face off for the first time this season, their original meeting scheduled in the regular season being penciled out due to COVID-19 protocols two weeks ago. UIndy has already upset a ranked opponent on the road this season, where they took down No. 24 Truman on a 78-74 final score in overtime at Kirksville, Mo. The Panthers’ only loss this season came on a home game against Rockhurst, a team that the Greyhounds were able to halt on a final score of 88-72 when they visited Indianapolis.

Whichever team to advance through the quarterfinal will make it into the GLVC semifinal match, the highest of the four teams remaining will be elected as the site host for the rest of the tournament. That institution will then also host the GLVC finals despite whether they win or lose in the semifinal. The GLVC semifinal matches are set to kick off on Saturday, March 6, while the 2020-21 GLVC Women’s Basketball Tournament Champion will be crowned on Sunday, March 7.
